OUR MISSION The mission of the Workplace Learning Resource Center (WpLRC) is to drive economic and workforce development in California, through the delivery of high quality, innovative, and affordable learning and training solutions, for private and public sector employers. As part of a statewide initiative, the Workplace Learning Resource Centers strive to serve their region and to build California’s future workforce by providing customized educational programs for the local communities that they serve. WpLRC NEWS In partnership with the Contra Costa and Alameda County One-Stop Career Centers, the WpLRC is currently piloting a Career Readiness Certificate (CRC) to explore the long-term viability and applicability of a CRC for businesses and organizations in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. The Career Readiness Certificate is a work skills certificate program utilizing WorkKeys (ACT, Inc.). The assessment measures skills in 3 critical areas: Reading for Information, Locating for Information, and Applied Mathematics. Participants awarded a certificate can demonstrate competencies in the 3 areas to prospective employers. Business and industry can consider these certificates as a further demonstration of a prospective employee’s command of basic skills. |
